Hockey Team Needed For Charity Tournament This Weekend

A special fundraising hockey tournament is set for this weekend at the Clairmont Arena.

It begins Friday night and runs through the weekend, with all teams guaranteed at least 3 games.

Organizer Lamont Anderson says proceeds will go back into the arena itself.

"We've done a lot of upgrading over the last six years, including a new ice plant a couple of years ago and a new zamboni.  So just to keep the arena up to snuff so that it is there for everyone to use."

There is still room for one more team to register at a cost of 700 dollars.

They are also looking for prizes for the silent auction and other draws, as well as for volunteers to help stage the tournament.
