At Tomorrow's Growing The North Conference: Understanding The Global Market, Seizing Opportunities

Local industries need operate on a global stage -- just one of the themes that will come up at the third-annual Growing the North conference.

Todd Evans is is the director of Corporate Research Department with Export Development Canada and is on the roster of speakers for the opening day tomorrow at the TEC Centre.

He says expanding your to markets outside your region means brushing up even more on what the economy's doing on a much wider scale, even though your business may feel the ripple effects.

 "I know it sounds like a cliche' but we are in a global economy and markets are global. If you want to compete and grow your business, you have to look beyond the North American market."  

Evans says they'll touch on a lot of topics including the challenges of infrastructure, and understanding how to turn manufacturer know-how and innovation into exportable products as well.
